A drive of round-knitting machine has an electric motor and a vertical drive shaft at the ends of which the upper and the lower cylindrical pinions are rigidly fixed for kinematic coupling with mechanisms of round-knitting machine. The drive is additionally equipped with worm gearing, its worm is connected to the shaft of the electric motor, and the worm wheel is rigidly installed on the vertical drive shaft between the upper and the lower cylindrical pinions.
