<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving object detection device that can increase the accuracy of determining whether or not a detected moving object is present in a detection area. <P>SOLUTION: The moving object detection device 101, which processes image data acquired via an imaging device 102 to detect a moving object, comprises a lower region representative reference coordinate setting part 105 for setting lower region representative reference coordinates corresponding to a point representative of a lower region of a moving object area, and a detection area determination part 106 for determining whether or not the lower region representative reference coordinates are present in a predetermined detection area.
