ALL-OPTICAL CSMA/CD APPARATUS IN BASE A ETHERNET AND THE THEORY

An Ethernet-based electro-optic CSMA/CD(Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection) apparatus and its method are provided to be operable at a high speed and usable for multiple subscribers who use a low-priced light source, and enable dynamic connection of an optical line. ONUs(10-1-10-n) include different optical signals in each uplink wavelength, and transmit them. A PS(Power Splitter)(30) multiplexes the different optical signals and transmits them. A CO(Central Office)(50) checks whether the multiplexed optical signals, amplifies some optical signals as checked and at the same time returns the other remaining light signals, and monitors a state that the ONUs(10-1-10-n) occupy a common line network(S1).
