<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device reducing power consumption at a low cost and reducing a load of a host system. <P>SOLUTION: The image pickup device includes: an image pickup element 2a for photographing a subject and converting it into analog pixel data; an A/D converter 4 for converting the analog pixel data into digital pixel data and outputting them; a differential generation section 5a for generating differential data 17 between adjacent digital pixel data; a control section 6a for controlling operations of the image pickup element 2a, the A/D converter 4 and the differential generation section 5a; and a host system 30a for constructing a digital image corresponding to the subject on the basis of the digital pixel data, wherein a transfer rate of image data from the A/D converter 4 to the host system 30a is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
