PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gradient coils to improve an electric insulation performance and cooling capacity. SOLUTION: Gradient coils 11a, b, and c and an internal cooling system 14 of an MRI imaging apparatus are soaked in an insulating oil 13 in a container 12. A pump 16 circulates a refrigerant between the internal cooling system 14 and an external cooling system 15. The insulating oil 13 fills only the container 12 having a gradient coil unit, which enables the amount of the insulating oil to be reduced substantially. In addition, because the insulating oil 13 is not forcedly circulated, bubbles are not generated or the insulation performance is not degraded. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
