PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decontaminating contaminated soil, by which boron-containing contaminated soil can be extracted. SOLUTION: The method for decontaminating contaminated soil comprises the steps of: throwing the contaminated soil 1 in a heat treatment apparatus 10; heating the thrown soil to≥900°C to turn boron existing in the soil the boron oxide, and with silicon oxide, aluminum oxide or sodium oxide existing in the soil and stabilize boron as a boron compound; and extracting the stabilized boron of a dried state together with soil particles each of which has≤74μm particle size and which are obtained by sorting the heat-treated soil.
