PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capping method and a capper capable of surely mounting even such a cap having an inner ring formed on an internal top face on the mouth of a container. SOLUTION: A controller 12 rotates a capping head 6 in a clamping direction until reference torque Tc larger than final tightening torque Ts is obtained, and stops it. The cap 3 is thus screwed onto the mouth 2A of the container 2, and a rotation angle position of the capping head 6 where the final tightening torque Ts is obtained during the process is also stored in an angle storage part 12D. Then, the capping head 6 is reversely rotated by a required rotation angle from the stop position to the rotation angle position where the final tightening torque Ts is obtained, and mounting the cap 3 on the container 2 is completed. Even in the case of the cap 3 with the inner ring 3D, the inner ring 3D can be surely fitted into the inner periphery of the mouth 2A of the container 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
