<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio remote control system which operates the circuit of a remote control device by inquiry signals and a power sent from a reading unit that is built in or externally connected to an electronic apparatus, and transmits signals that are recorded in the remote control device for controlling the electronic apparatus to remotely control the electronic apparatus without providing a built-in power supply to the remote control device. <P>SOLUTION: The remote control device 10 is connected to the reading unit built in or externally connected to a remote control target device 20 in such a manner that it is capable of communicating with the reading unit over radio waves. The remote control device 10 is equipped with a transmitting/receiving unit 11 which receives inquiry signals and an electric power from the reading unit, a control signal recording unit 13 which records the control signals for controlling the remote control target device 20, a control signal input/output unit 14 which operates its circuit by the received power to read out control signals, and a circuit switching unit 12 which controls ON/OFF by switching circuits. The transmitting/receiving unit 11 transmits the read control signals to the reading unit.
