PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast-coated paper having a back-coating layer, having excellent whiteness and aging stability of color in spite of the use of satin white in the back-coating layer, exhibiting excellent surface smoothness (free from unevenness), preventing the staining of the drum surface and producible in high efficiency. SOLUTION: A back-coating layer composed mainly of a pigment and an adhesive is applied to one surface of a base paper, and a primer coating layer composed mainly of a pigment and an adhesive is applied at need to the other surface of the base paper. A cast-coating layer composed mainly of a pigment and an adhesive is formed on the base paper and the paper is pressed against a hot mirror-face drum while the cast-coating layer is still in a wet state to effect the drying of the layer and the glaze finishing of the paper.
