PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for sintering by which remarkable reduction in the amount of fuel gas used for reheating circulating gas, reduction in the amount of industrial gas used for regulating the composition of the circulating gas and also reduction in an equipment cost can be achieved. SOLUTION: The gas discharge end of a circulating-gas path 7 is divided into a plurality of parts and arranged in a moving direction of a moving path 1, and tubular flame burners 8 are attached to the arranged gas discharge end.
