PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing phenol resin fine particles having a sharp particle size distribution and extremely small particle diameters, and also hardly causing their aggregation, and the phenol resin fine particles obtained from the method. SOLUTION: This method for producing the phenol resin fine particles by reacting (A) phenols with (B) aldehydes by irradiating a microwave and the phenol resin fine particles obtained by the production method are provided by using the frequency band of the microwave of preferably≥1 kind selected from 890 to 940 MHz, 2,400 to 2,500 MHz and 5,725 to 5,875 MHz, and preferably having≤500 nm mean particle diameter of the phenol resin fine particles.
