PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a triphenylamine-based compound, by which the triphenylamine-based compound can be purified at a remarkably low residual solvent rate without forming an oily substance, and to provide the triphenylamine-based compound. SOLUTION: This method for purifying the triphenylamine-based compound represented by general formula (1) is characterized by dissolving the triphenylamine-based compound in a good solvent, and then dropping the obtained solution in a poor solvent to deposit the crystals of the triphenylamine-based compound. The crystals are filtered, and the obtained crystals are vacuum-dried in an atmosphere having a temperature of 40°C and an atmospheric pressure of 266.6 Pa for eight hours to obtain the finely particulate crystals.
