METHOD FOR GENERATING SECURITY KEY IN A WILELESS NETWORK

A method for generating a security key in a wireless network is provided to perform a rapid communication between a mobile terminal and an access point by minimizing a time for a roaming service by simplifying roaming procedure in a wireless information communication network. A reception process is performed to receive a first level pairwise master key derived from a predetermined master key from a server(903-907). A first deriving process is performed to derive a pairwise master key from the first level pairwise master key(909). A second deriving process derives a second level pairwise master key for at least one adjacent access point from the first level pairwise master key(911). The adjacent access point is used for deriving a pairwise transient key from the second level pairwise master key.
