PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for speedily and easily estimating the chemical forms of inorganic minerals in coal widely used in metallurgical furnaces such as a blast furnace and combustion furnaces such as a boiler through the use of an NMR method for estimating the chemical forms of inorganic minerals in coal. SOLUTION: On a plurality of types of coal each representing brands, the chemical forms of inorganic minerals present in the coal are previously specified by<SP>27</SP>Al-NMR spectroscopy, and the amount of Al and the amount of Si in the coal are measured by a component analysis method to create an inorganic mineral estimation map indicating the relation between the amount of Al and the amount of Si in the coal and the chemical forms of inorganic minerals. Then the amount of Al and the amount of Si in coal to be evaluated are measured by the component analysis method. The chemical forms of inorganic minerals present in the coal are estimated on the basis of the amount of Al and the amount of Si and the inorganic mineral estimation map in the method for estimating the chemical forms of inorganic minerals in coal.
