<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly, in which the corrosion of a cathode catalyst at the start and stop, and decomposition of electrolyte membrane in holding an OCV can be suppressed effectively. <P>SOLUTION: This method is for manufacturing the electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly has a polyelectrolyte membrane, a cathode catalyst layer formed on one surface of the polyelectrolyte membrane, an anode catalyst layer formed on the other surface of the polyelectrolyte membrane, and a first gasket layer formed on at least one part of the end part of the cathode catalyst layer so that the effective area of the anode catalyst layer becomes larger than that of the effective cathode catalyst layer, and where a reinforced layer of which the strength is higher than that of the polyelectrolyte membrane is arranged at a site overlapping the end part of the cathode catalyst layer at least in the thickness direction of the electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly of the polyelectrolyte membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
