<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication terminal and a reception control method capable of executing intermittent reception during waiting for retransmission of service information such as broadcast data, and as a result, prolonging the lifetime of a battery of the terminal. <P>SOLUTION: In controlling the reception of the service information, a control unit 83 controls a communication unit 82 so as to receive all the broadcast data first during executing the broadcast service, to wait for retransmission of a packet if the packet in the middle cannot be received due to some factor, to obtain transfer rates from each of all the data received so far during retransmission waiting and data received immediately before (e.g. 30 seconds), and to predict a time until a packet required for itself comes next time.
