PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and industrially excellent manufacturing method in the manufacture of a carbon nanotube fiber excellent in physical properties such as mechanical strength, electric conductivity or thermal conductivity. SOLUTION: The spun carbon nanotube fiber 100 is passed through an electric oven 12 to be heated using 2 bobbins 10 and 11. Carbon nanotubes in the fiber 100 are chemically bonded to each other at the contact parts by making current flow to the fiber 100 in the heated state using a pair of electrodes 14 and a power source 15.
