摘要 An in-plane switching mode liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus having the same are provided to realize reflection display and transmission display of high quality, improve degree of freedom in a design change, and easily cope with application to various devices. A first substrate(10) and a second substrate(20) are opposite to each other, maintaining a liquid crystal layer(50) between the first substrate and the second substrate. First and second electrodes(9,19) are formed at a liquid crystal layer side of the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer is driven by an electric field generated between the first and second electrodes. A reflection display area(R) executing reflection display and a transmission display area(T) executing transmission display are formed at one sub-pixel area. The second electrode is formed on an interlayer dielectric(13) covering the first electrode. A relative dielectric constant of the interlayer dielectric in the reflection display area is lower than a relative dielectric constant of the interlayer dielectric in the transmission display area.
