The method involves encrypting a part of packet bits of audio or video data that are defined by two consecutive timing marks, by random pseudo flow. The compressed data are partly coded by tables of reversible variable length coded words and non reversible variable length coded words. The data are encrypted by a symmetric encryption algorithm by the tables. - Independent claims are also included for the following: - (a) compressed encrypted data flow - (b) audio/video data coder/decoder - (c) a computer readable medium having program codes for implementing a method of encrypting a flow of compressed audio or video data.
