A flat display device is provided to increase its productivity by directly connecting a connecting member having a drive chip with a connecting portion of a drive chip mounting part. A flat display device includes a frame(109'), a panel(103) attached to a front surface of the frame, a printed circuit board(110) fixed to a rear surface of the frame for generating a drive signal to drive the panel, a connecting member(130) transmitting the drive signal to the panel from the printed circuit board, and a protective member(120) positioned on the connecting member for protecting the connecting member. A drive chip mounting portion is formed on the rear surface of the frame to receive a drive ship. The drive chip mounting portion has a connecting portion connected with the protective member.
