PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data selection system capable of properly suppressing trouble required for data retrieval by selecting data by a degree of similarity. SOLUTION: This data selection system 1 has musical piece data, a CD DB comprising additional information corresponding to the musical piece data, a musical piece data storage part 3 and a CD DB storage part 4 storing the musical piece data and the CD DB. The data selection system 1 has a similarity calculation part 7 deciding the similarity to the selected musical piece data about the musical piece data stored by the musical piece data storage part 3 on the basis of comparison between pieces of additional data 10 constituting the CD DB corresponding to the selected musical piece data and the musical piece data stored by the musical piece data storage part 3.
