摘要 A method and an apparatus for switching on/off a hybrid type fuel cell are provided to stably supply electric power to the fuel cell by directly supplying battery power from a secondary battery to an external set when remaining power of the fuel cell is too small. A fuel sensor(120) detects a fuel amount of a fuel cell(110), converts the detected result to an electrical signal, and outputs the converted result. A main controller(130) outputs a charge signal, a discharge signal, an FM(Frequency Modulation) signal, and switch on/off signals according to a remaining amount of the fuel cell. A main switch(140) is arranged between the fuel cell and a power line of an external set. When enough power remains in the fuel cell, the main switch is turned on by a control signal from the main controller. Otherwise, the main switch is turned off. At least one secondary battery pack(160) is arranged between the fuel cell and the power line. When power remains enough in the fuel cell, the secondary battery pack is charged. Otherwise, the second battery pack is discharged to supply electrical power to the external set.
