A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to restrict wrong discharge caused due to strong discharge during a falling period of a reset period and to decrease the internal pressure of a transistor. A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel(100) comprising plural first electrodes(X1~Xn), plural second electrodes(Y1~Yn), plural third electrodes(A1~Am) formed across the first and second electrodes, and discharge cells formed in spots where the first, second, and third electrodes are crossed; a control unit(200) for driving one frame according to plural subfields comprising a reset period, an address period, and a sustain period; and a driving circuit for applying a first voltage to the first electrodes between the reset and address periods and then gradually decreasing the first voltage from a second voltage lower than the first voltage to a third voltage.
