The device has an angular sensor (5) for delivering a signal representative of a rotation angle of a wheel rim. The sensor has a movable part mounted on a support and an immovable part integrated to an immovable piece with respect to a vehicle (8), where the support is integrated to the wheel rim. An electromagnetic signal transmitter/receiver part (9) detects the presence of complementary parts (10, 20) separated by a predetermined distance (D) according to an advancement direction of the vehicle.
