The device has a flap (30) mounted on a base (15) of a front seat and forming a wall of a space comprising movable objects. The flap rotates around an axle (40) of a counterweight (50) and retains the objects, and a lock immobilizes the flap. The flap extends horizontally and parallel to the wall in its rest position and projects from the wall in its retaining position. The flap automatically takes the retaining position during a defined braking/acceleration phase or high declivity of the ground.
