PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document transfer system that dispenses with burdensome preparations at receiver side, avoids the leak of information to a third party, while a received document is printed once, and enables the content of the document to be confirmed with another convenient timing. SOLUTION: The document transfer system comprises a document generating device 110 for superimposing an encrypted password set by a sender to a cover sheet for printing; a document-transmitting device 120 for transmitting the document; a document-receiving device 130 that is connected to the document transmitting device via a communications network, receives the document, and prints the cover sheet of at least a received document to prevent the body of the document from being read by the third party; and a document-printing device 140 that reads the printed cover sheet, extracts the encrypted password, and prints the body of the document, in a state in which the receiver can read the document, when the encrypted password matches the password that the receiver inputted.
