A method for controlling TV watching is provided to allow a user to safely drive a vehicle by selectively blocking video display of TV broadcasting according to determinant result on vehicle speed. A vehicle speed, which is received from a GPS(Global Positioning System) terminal, is checked while watching TV broadcasting(S12). When the checked vehicle speed is faster than a predetermined reference speed, it is determined whether the vehicle speed is valid(S14). If the checked vehicle speed is faster than the reference speed, displaying TV broadcasting is selectively blocked(S16). If the checked vehicle speed is not faster than the reference speed, the TV broadcasting is normally outputted(S15).
