PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a white pearl coating film which can obtain a pearl coating film having high flip-flop properties that can recognize that the pearl coating film has the flip-flop properties not only seen closely but seen from a distant, and having an excellent white pearl feeling. SOLUTION: The method of forming the white pearl coating film sequentially forms a white color base coating film, a mica base coating film, and a clear coating film on a substrate formed with a primer coating film and an intermediate coating film. The mica base coating film contains a 3-50 mass% reduced titanium coating interference mica pigment with respect to the total mass of the reduced titanium coating interference mica pigment and a metal oxide coating pigment.
