PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable secondary battery which can control or stop the heat generation of a lamination battery suitably in case of emergency. SOLUTION: An outer layer of a battery is formed of polyethylene (PE) with a low melting temperature and an inner part is formed of polypropylene (PP) with a high melting temperature. When heat is generated due to overcharging or the like, a shutdown phenomenon arises from an outer separator, and overcharging is stopped from an outer generation element and discharging is commenced, and also charging is stopped from an inner generation element and discharging is commenced. Since the outer part of the battery can be cooled efficiently, heat generation in this area can be stopped at an early stage and a temperature rise can be controlled, and therefore a heat radiation property in the battery is improved. Furthermore, discharging is performed for a long time from the whole of the battery, a temperature rise at discharging can be reduced. By these imrovements, a possibility of the generation of an inner short circuit caused by an irregular temperature rise can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
