<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector for a submarine long material which prevents the hooking of an anchor or the like when an anchor or the like gets into the lower part and the damage of a submarine long material accommodated therein. <P>SOLUTION: A protector for a submarine long material 1 is equipped with a plurality of cylindrical body parts 2 which are connected to each other by a connecting means and which have a triangular cross section and a hollow inside. The connecting means is composed of a front connecting part 2e formed in a front opening 2b and a back connecting part 2f formed in a back opening 2d. In each body part 2, the front connecting part 2e and back opening 2f are freely rotatably connected to a shaft. A submarine long material is accommodated in the body part 2 through the front opening 2b and back opening 2d. When a claw 5a of an anchor 5 is hooked, the anchor 5 is pulled to rotate the body part 2 so that the anchor 5 is unhooked.
