The bottom cross sill is fitted with a closing plate in which a locking pin of the casement frame engages to lock the window or door element. At the side next to the closing plate is a profiled cover (3) which is aligned flush and/or gap-free. The closing plate matches the shape of the profiled cover so that the plate fits seamlessly at the side. The closing plate can also be a profile or profiled member. Independent claim describes sealing or locking system for sealing a door element between the inside and outside of buildings which comprises a sill profile (1), inner profile (2) with profiled cover, closing plate and a seal which seals the gap between the door element and sill in the closed state.
