PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image with uniform brightness irrespective of the surface shape of the display surface in an array type display device of this invention wherein a plurality of arc tubes having phosphor layers inside are arranged, discharge is generated in the plurality of arc tubes for making the phosphor layers in the arc tubes emit light to display an image when image data showing a uniform image is inputted. SOLUTION: This array type display device has a brightness control means adjusting brightness of each of the plurality of arc tubes according to a partial curvature of the display surface.
