PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink protruding from the edge of a recording medium from being cured to be clogged in an inner section of a fluid channel of a hole for marginless printing provided on a platen by entering the hole when printing to the edge of the recording medium is performed in an inkjet image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium by ejecting ink. SOLUTION: Water or a cleaning liquid is injected from the hole 18 for marginless printing or a dedicated water injection hole 21 formed at the platen 10 on an as-needed basis so that the ink which tends to be solidified in the fluid channel is discharged, thereby preventing the ink from being solidified.
