PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide conductive powder light in weight, excellent in chemical stability and heat rsistance, produced at a low cost and properly exerting properties such as conductivity. SOLUTION: A metal coating of silver or the like is formed on each surface of particles of plate-like alumina containingα-alumina as a main constituent by an electrodeless plating method. The plate-like alumina particles used as a base material are formed by a hydrothermal synthesis method, wherein an average thickness is 0.01-1μm, an average particle diameter is 0.5-50μm, and an aspect ratio being a ratio of the particle diameter to the thickness is 5-500. In the granularity distribution width of the plate-like alumina particles, a value obtained by dividing, by the average particle diameter, a difference between the particle diameter at 10% accumulation accumulated in the order from those having smaller diameters and the particle diameter at 90% accumulation, is 2.0 or less.
