PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a packaging structure for an information recording medium, thereby saving resources, and to prevent a heat-shrinkable fastening band from wrinkling. SOLUTION: The packaging structure is provided for packaging an index card S1 and a storage case 5 storing an information recording medium M. The index card S1 includes an upper segment 7 covering at least part of the upper face 5a of the storage case 5, a front face segment 9 extending from the front end of the upper face segment 7 and folded downward to cover the front face of the storage case 5, and a lower face segment 10 extending from the lower end of the front face segment 9 and folded backward to cover at least part of the lower face 5b of the storage case 5. The endless fastening band 6 made of heat-shrinkable film is wrapped around the storage case 5 so as to extend in the lengthwise direction across the index card S1. The sidewise dimension (B) of the fastening band 6 in relation to the lengthwise dimension (A) of the fastening band 6 on the upper face 5a of the case is set so as to satisfy 4≤A/B≤10.
