PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the idle driving, and also to secure safety. SOLUTION: A nailing machine is provided with a hammering mechanism for driving out a magazine 5 and fasteners and a contact mechanism for enabling the operation of a trigger. A first idle-driving prevention lever 17 is horizontally rotatably provided so as to be retractable into/from a fastener feed passage 12 of the magazine. The contact mechanism is composed of a lower arm 21 capable of protruding farther than the tip of a nose part, an intermediate member 22 interlocked with the lower arm 21 and the first idle-driving prevention lever 17, and an upper arm 23 cooperating with the trigger. A second idle-driving prevention lever 32 engageable/disengageable with/from the upper arm 23 is provided to the intermediate member 22. When the intermediate member and the lower arm 21 are energized downward and the intermediate member is rotated simultaneously with the rotation of the first idle-driving prevention lever 17 after entering the magazine, the engagement between the second idle-driving prevention lever 32 and the upper arm 23 is released.
