PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain both the cost reduction of a whole system and the high speed operation of the parallax image generation for the right eye and the left eye in a stereoscopic image display system. SOLUTION: This stereoscopic image generation device is provided with a polygon dividing means and a plotting means for plotting an image for the right eye and an image for the left eye by time-division for each of a plurality of small polygons generated by the dividing means. The plotting means is provided with a storage means for temporarily storing texture data. In the texture mapping processing for the small polygons, the dividing means is configured to perform sub-division in order to increase a reuse ratio in an image for the right eye and an image for the left eye of the texture data stored by the storage means.
