PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet image forming device capable of preventing degradation in image quality caused by defective nozzles, and a method of compensating the defective nozzles. SOLUTION: The inkjet image forming device comprises a print head 111 equipped with printing medium transporting sections 113, 115 and 117 which transport printing mediums P in a first direction and a nozzle 112 extending substantially in parallel in the second direction of crossing with the first direction and having nozzles which eject ink droplets to the printing mediums, a carriage 106 to which the print head is mounted, a carriage transporting section 160 which transports the carriage back and forth in the second direction and a controller 130 which synchronizes movement among the printing medium transporting sections, the print head and the carriage transporting section in order to eject the ink droplets for printing in a desired spot on the printing medium by the nozzles so as to distribute the influence of the defective nozzles.
