PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having double functions of heating and toasting for heating bread-type food or toasting its surface by radial rays. SOLUTION: This device includes a housing 34 having a heating/toasting chamber 38. In the chamber 38, a center fixed platen 40 for heating is disposed in the vertical direction, and a pair of movable platens 44 for heating are disposed on both sides of the center fixed platen 40 in the vertical direction. A gate 46 that is movable between a closure position for holding food between the platens and a release position for putting processed food out of the chamber 38 is movably installed close to a bottom part of the platens in the housing 34. The food is placed on the gate 40 between one of the movable platens 44 and the fixed platen to be separated from the platens, and heated by radiation heat. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
