A method and a device for selecting an image are provided to display an image of an image file selected in the first window by dragging and dropping the selected image file selected among the image files displayed in the first window to the second window. A checker(114) checks whether the image of the image file dragged from the first window to the second window is displayed in the second window. A drop determiner(116) drops the dragged image file to the second window by responding to a check result. A file information obtainer(118) obtains file information of the dropped image file. An image information caller(120) calls image information of the image file by using the obtained file information. The first window is the window displaying the image file and the second window is the window of a driver ordering image formation of the image file displayed to the second window. A user interface(112) provides an interface including the first window and the second window displaying the called image information.
