<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a person retrieval device for largely shortening a retrieval time under such circumstances that a person under registration repeatedly uses it. <P>SOLUTION: This person retrieval device is configured to retrieve similar characteristic information among one or more preliminarily registered face characteristic information for the characteristic information of the face obtained from a candidate in order to retrieve a person similar to the candidate, wherein the face characteristic information inputted when a retrieval request is received and information which is auxiliary as necessary are recorded as a history, and whether or not the retrieval request of the similar person has been received in the past is retrieved by using the face characteristic information inputted when the retrieval request is newly received and the auxiliary information, and the retrieval method is changed according to the past retrieval result when it is decided that the retrieval request of the similar person has been received in the past. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
