<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delay lock loop for performing transient recovery as rapidly as possible and a delay chain setting method. <P>SOLUTION: The delay lock loop includes an input section (9), serial connection delay cells (30, 50, 70, 90) and an output section (10) and in the output section, a signal (Prestrobe) delayed just for a delay time (Tk) is supplied by a delay chain (1). The delay lock loop includes a phase detector structure (2) and the phase detector structure comprises second phase detector cells (31, 51, 71, 91) coupled with the output section (10) for the delay chain (1) and with an output section of one of the delay cells (30, 50, 70, 90) of the delay chain (1) at an input side, and a phase detector coupled with the output section (10) of the delay chain (1) and the input section (9) of the delay chain (1). The phase detector structure (2) and the phase detector (3) are connected to a control unit (4).
