PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document storage system in which contents of a document can be recognized to a certain extent even without accessing an actual image. SOLUTION: An image distribution server including an image OCR analyzing means for extracting character information from an image file is used to notify, by mail, extracted character information together with the address (URL) of the image file of image database information.
