PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and low-price label printer capable of outputting a past record report which can be readily read and handled in a label printer which prints characters and the like on labels to be attached to products and the like. SOLUTION: The label printer uses label paper which has the rear surface serving as a thermally active adhesive layer and enables printing on the entire top surface thereof. The label printer has a function of storing and adding up issued past records of labels so that a past record report is printed and output on the label paper. When the top surface and the rear surface of the label paper are heated by first and second thermal heads, respectively, printing and adhesion is carried out. Then, the second thermal head is controlled so that the rear surface gets sticky at the time of issuing a label, and the rear surface does not get sticky at the time of issuing a past record report.
