PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To turn audio communication and data communication into a life line from these communications other than a public telephone line in a communications apparatus. SOLUTION: A communication function unit 10 is provided with a network side interface connected with the communication line and subscriber side interfaces 105, 106 connected with terminals 107, 108, while a power supply unit 20 is provided with an interface 207 for a public line. The power supply unit 20 supplies predetermined power supply power with respect to the predetermined terminals 107, 108 connected to the communication function unit 10 and subscriber side interfaces 105, 106. If the supply of electrical power from the commercial power supply 200 stops, the power supplied from the public telephone network connected to the interface 207 for the public line is supplied to an own terminal and the other predetermined terminal.
