PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal digital assistant capable of informing surrounding people about a state in an off-line mode while ensuring privacy of the user of the terminal. SOLUTION: The personal digital assistant displays an off-line display pattern denoting a state in the off-line mode on a display area viewed from a viewpoint within a wide visual field angle and outside the narrow visual field angle depending on a contrast difference on the basis of a visual field angular difference by partially switching the visual field angle of the display area of a display apparatus 5 into the wide visual field angle and the narrow visual field angle during the off-line mode wherein transmission/reception of a radio wave for wireless communication is inhibited. Thus, the screen display in an oblique direction is hardly legible so as to ensure the privacy of the user, and the off-line display pattern can inform the surrounding people about the state in the off-line mode by means of the off-line display pattern.
