A traffic control method for a voice service in an IP RAN is provided to prevent a bottleneck from being generated in links between base stations and an RNC by disallowing channel assignment to a new call which requests a data call connection when congestion occurs due to call connections, thereby stably performing the voice service in any situation. A traffic control method for a voice service in an IP(Internet Protocol) RAN(Radio Access Network) comprises the following steps of: enabling an RNC(Radio Network Controller) to monitor inputted packets and check whether a packet blocking probability variable exceeds a packet blocking probability critical value or not(ST1,ST2); notifying each base station of the fact that packet blocking has been generated by using a blocking message if the packet blocking probability variable is more than the packet blocking probability critical value(ST3); assigning a channel to only a voice call if the each base station receives the blocking message and not allowing channel assignment to a call which requests data connection(ST4).
