PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reinforcing the bending proof stress of an upper end part of a foundation pile at a location corresponding to the lower surface of a foundation structure of an existing structure or upper and lower end parts of a column at a location corresponding to the upper or lower surface of a beam or a slab when the existing structure on which a horizontal force of earthquakes etc. acts is to be extended and increased in quantity. SOLUTION: Slits 5 etc. or a notch 7 is provided for the outer circumference of the upper end part 1' of the foundation pile 1 at a location corresponding to the lower surface of the foundation structure 4 of the existing structure 2 to concentrate the burden of a long-period vertical load of the structure 2 on a center part of the upper end part 1' of the pile, reduce normal-time stress acting on the outer circumferential edge of the upper end part 1' of the pile, and reinforce the bending proof stress of the upper end part 1' of the pile.
