A method of feeding an inert gas and a system thereof are provided to remove loss of the inert gas during a process of compressing the inert gas conveyed from an inert gas source. A method of feeding an inert gas includes the steps of supplying an inert gas into a piston reciprocating compressor(9) from an inert gas source, compressing the inert gas in the compressor, detecting a pressure of the inert gas in the tank and conveying the compressed gas into a high pressure storage tank(14), discharging the inert gas from the compressor when the pressure arrives at an upper limit, and detecting the pressure of the inert gas in the tank and supplying the inert gas into the tank.
