In an apparatus for manufacturing envelope blanks means are provided for feeding selectively either blanks from a pile of blanks, or blanks which are successively cut from a roll, to a fold corner cutting device. If it is desired to work from the roll, the web of paper 2 is drawn from the roll 1 at position I, and cut into blanks 3, the fold corners 4 and tip of the flap 5 being cut at position III, and the blanks stacked at IV or proceeding to the folding unit. The previously formed blanks 3 may be cut with straight edges from a stack of sheets 31 and arranged as a stack 7 at position II, the fold corners being cut, as before, at position III. The apparatus Fig. 3 (not shown) is provided with means for carrying both the roll, and the stack, each with its appropriate feeding arrangement. Specifications 709,007 and 725,416 are referred to. |
